Depth Requirements
The first step is to make sure that your window is deep enough for an inside mount. Find your window treatment’s minimum inside-mount depth requirement on the Product Page under the “Product Info” tab.
Measuring the width
Measure the width of the inside edge of the window frame from left to right in three places (top, middle and bottom).- Write down the smallest of the three widths, and round down to the nearest 1/8”. For example, if the smallest measurement is 28 9/16", round down to 28 1/2".
- This is the width for your order.
Measuring the height
- Measure the exact height of the window frame from the top to the bottom in three places (top left, center and top right down to the window sill).
- Write down the largest height out of the 3 measurements, rounding up to the nearest 1/8". For example, If the largest measurement is 28 9/16", round up to 28 5/8".
- This is the height for your order.
Do not make your own deductions. Our factory will make all the required deductions based on the exact window measurements you provide to us, ensuring that your product will fit and operate perfectly. Note that factory deductions may vary +/- 1/8".

Instructions for Outside Mounted Solar Shades
Since an outside mount covers the entire window opening and frame, there are some additions you will need to make to order the proper size. Your product will be made to the exact measurements you give, and we won’t make any adjustments.
Flat Surface Requirements
- First, determine if you have enough flat surface for mounting. Find your window treatment’s flat surface requirements in the “Product Info” tab on the information page of the product you chose.
Measuring the width
- Measure the width of the window in three places (top, middle and bottom).
- Write down the largest of the three widths.
- We recommend adding at least 4” total to this number. If the window opening is 72”, for example, it‘s recommended to order 76” width, giving you 2” of added coverage on each side of the window. This will give you more light and privacy control, and minimize any light gaps.
- This is the width for your order.
Measuring the height
- Measure the height in three places (top left, center and top right down to the bottom sill).
- Write down the largest height out of the 3 measurements.
- We recommend adding at least 4” total to this number (2 extra inches for the top and 2 extra inches for the bottom) to ensure window is properly covered.
- This is the height for your order.
