Light Filtering: Light filtering fabrics diffuse natural light, creating a warm glow as it enters the room.
Blackout: Blackout roller shades block most natural light from coming into the room, making them a good choice for bedrooms, baby nurseries & kids rooms, and media rooms.
Room Darkening: Room darkening fabrics are somewhere in between light filtering and blackout. They let some light into the room, but far less light than light filtering fabrics.

Continuous Cord Loop with Chain Guard: This option is ideal for large and extra-high windows and allows you to easily raise and lower your shades. Chain Guard is a transparent shroud that covers the Continuous Cord Loop in compliance with the new Canadian regulations for improved child safety. When in the neutral position at the bottom of the chain, the Chain Guard leaves <22 cms of exposed chain at the top of the shade. To raise or lower the shade, simply raise the Chain Guard shroud and operate the exposed chain at the bottom as you would with a regular Continuous Cord Loop.

What’s the difference between light-filtering and blackout roller shades?
Light-filtering roller shades allow some natural light to pass through while diffusing the light to reduce glare and provide a level of privacy. Blackout roller shades are designed to block out incoming light, offering maximum privacy and light control.
Do roller shades offer privacy?
Yes, roller shades offer varying levels of privacy depending on the fabric chosen. Sheer fabrics provide light filtering with some visibility, while thicker or blackout fabrics and/or adding liners offer greater privacy. Blackout roller shades will provide the greatest privacy.

What is the difference between roller shades and solar shades?
Roller shades and solar shades may look similar, but they serve different purposes based on light control, privacy and UV protection.
Roller Shades are made from light-filtering or blackout fabrics, and are designed to provide varying levels of privacy and light control. They can be fully opaque for complete blackout or semi-opaque for the soft diffusion of natural light into the room. Roller shades are ideal for virtually any room in the house, including bedrooms, living rooms, and media rooms.
Solar Shades are made from UV-resistant, woven screen fabric, and are designed to block glare and reduce heat while still maintaining a view to the outside. Solar shades are offered in different openness factors (1%-14%): a lower percentage blocks more light, glare and harmful UV rays, while a higher percentage allows more visibility to the outside. Ideal for sunrooms, offices and any space where you want glare reduction without the need for total privacy or darkness.
Can I customize the fabric and colour of my roller shades?

Should I choose an inside mount or outside mount?
The choice between inside and outside mount depends on your preference. Inside mount fits within the window frame, offering a sleek, flush, built-in look. Outside mounts are installed outside the window frame, covering a larger area and may provide better light control and privacy.
How do I measure my windows for roller shades?
For an inside mount, measure the exact width of the inside of the window frame at the top, middle, and bottom, and use the narrowest measurement. For the height, measure the inside frame at the left, center, and right, and use the longest measurement. For outside mount, measure the desired width and height of the area you wish to cover, adding up to an extra 4” to ensure proper coverage.
Are roller shades easy to install?
Roller shades are designed for straightforward installation whether you’re an experienced DIY home renovator or a beginner. How do I clean and maintain my roller shades?
Keeping your roller shades clean is simple and requires minimal effort. Use a feather duster, a microfiber cloth, or a soft brush attachment on a vacuum to remove dust and debris. For small stains, use a damp cloth with mild soap and water, and gently blot the stain (avoid scrubbing to prevent damage). For a deeper cleaning, use a damp sponge with mild detergent and wipe gently.
