Mount Type - Inside or Outside Mount Refers to the way in which the blind will be hung, either inside or outside the window opening. Inside mount blinds are mounted inside the window frame opening that is recessed from the wall. Outside mount blinds hang outside the window opening on a wood trim, wall or door. Inside mount is by far the most popular mount and provides a nice clean look and finish to your window.

For inside mounts: please make sure to follow the Measuring Instructions on our site; do not make any deductions in your measurements, as our factory will make all necessary deductions to allow for mounting brackets.

Motorization allows you to open and close your blinds from up to 65 feet away with the push of a button on a remote control. Please be sure to add one remote control per order, and select “No Remote” when ordering up to an additional 23 motorized blinds for the same room (since one remote control will work on up to 24 blinds).

The 12-channel hand held remote control can be paired with up to 24 shades, and can operate up to 8 shades at once. Please be sure to add 1 remote per order.
Headrail Options ?
Headrail Options
2 blinds or shades mounted on the same headrail. Typically this is to cover a large window where the size is too large to allow a single shade. Each blind or shade on the headrail will have its own set of controls so one blind may be open while the other is closed. We recommend splitting very large blinds into two blinds on one headrail. If it is recommended that your blind be split you can still choose to have it manufactured as one single blind, however, it will void the manufacturer's warranty.

Recommendations and Limitations

  • Inside mount: 3/8" total deduction on width taken at factory. Do not attempt to account for fabric deductions by changing measurements on inside mount shades.
  • Side mount brackets can only be ordered when inside mount is selected. Maximum width for side mount is 60" and 96” length. 
  • Cordless shades 36” or greater will include 2 handles per rail.  Cordless shades under 36” W will have 1 handle.
  • 2-on-1 headrail light gap: Cordless gap - 3/8”.

Great Process as a Whole; Great Blinds!

I've had my blinds for a few months now. I decided to get the double cell shades for additional insulation on the windows and it's been great. They feel much better quality than Rona's stock shades (which I had before). I contacted customer service prior to ordering to get some questions answered and was given exceptional service. After placing my order, I received a phone call from SelectBlinds verifying the shades and sizes I was purchasing. I purchased 10 shades and they were all custom sizes, so they wanted to make sure the details were correct before creating them eliminating any issues or hassles down the road. I forgot how long it took to receive them, but I remember it was on the shorter end of the estimated range. Overall I am very pleased and will always purchase my shades from SelectBlinds.

Easy to order and install. We do find our longer ones on the windows/ doors leading to patio need a little more help to raise — especially after being in the down position for lengthy period. Wish I had purchased the automated system. It’s a pain to raise them manually. Other than that, I have no complaints. These are great little blinds. The prices right. The ordering process was easy. I have recommended these two neighbours who saw the blinds and were impressed. I’ve only had them for a month or so. I hope that they stand the test of time.

Motor wire

One blind did not initially work. I took the blind down and slightly opened the cover. One of the wires was disconnected inside. So a quick fix for me as I am very handy. But for some others that may not be the case. Not sure why that wire would be disconnected as it would be checked before leaving. Maybe not fully pushed in. But easy fix and all good.
