Mount Type - Inside or Outside Mount Refers to the way in which the blind will be hung, either inside or outside the window opening. Inside mount blinds are mounted inside the window frame opening that is recessed from the wall. Outside mount blinds hang outside the window opening on a wood trim, wall or door. Inside mount is by far the most popular mount and provides a nice clean look and finish to your window.

For inside mounts: please make sure to follow the Measuring Instructions on our site; do not make any deductions in your measurements, as our factory will make all necessary deductions to allow for mounting brackets.

The cordless option does not have any cords and is raised and lowered by pulling on the shade itself.

Continuous Cord Loop is raised and lowered by use of a cord mounted to the Left or Right side of the shade.

Chain Guard
Chain Guard is a transparent shroud that covers the Continuous Cord Loop in compliance with the new Canadian regulations for improved child safety. When in the neutral position at the bottom of the chain, the Chain Guard leaves <22 cms of exposed chain at the top of the shade. To raise or lower the shade, simply raise the Chain Guard shroud and operate the exposed chain at the bottom as you would with a regular Continuous Cord Loop.

Install your window shades in minutes – no tools, no holes! All you have to do is place the no-drill headrail at the top of your window, push on the tension bar to lock it into place, and attach your shade.

IMPORTANT MEASURING TIP: If the no-drill installation headrail is chosen, measure the exact width of the top of your window frame and use those measurements as your width. Do NOT take the smallest of the three measurements, which may cause your headrail to not fit properly.

Recommendations and Limitations

  • Products come with 8” - 12" of extra fabric to conceal roller. 
  • Shades ordered as outside mount with exposed roll will show the hardware brackets, regardless of roll position selected.
  • We recommend reverse roll only for inside mount. A large light gap is created with reverse roll If outside mounted.
  • Cordless lift system in a reverse roll with exposed headrail and outside mount will require flipping the right-side bracket during installation. This will result in screws being exposed once shade is installed fully. 
  • Standard roll products with exposed roll show the back of the shade on the roll. If you don't want to see the backing on top of the roller, choose the optional cassette with colour-coordinated fabric insert which covers the roll and provides a clean, contemporary look.
  • Cassette size:
    • Shades 96” wide or less: 3 1/4" D x 3" H
    • Shades greater than 96” wide:  3 3/4" D x 3 5/8" H
  • Factory deductions :
    • Inside mount (do not account for factory deductions when measuring for your shades):
      • Cordless: 1/8" headrail deduction with 3/8" light gap per side.
      • Cassette option: 1/4” headrail deduction with light gap of 11/16" per side.  
    • Outside mount: No deductions on headrail. 1/2" light gap on either side of fabric.
    • Deductions may vary +/- 1/8.
  • Shades in Classic colours over 73" wide and/or 60" in height will have a horizontal seam. Shades in Deluxe colours over 94" wide and/or 82" in height will have a horizontal seam. Seam is placed as high as possible on shade so, in most cases, it remains hidden.
  • No-drill headrail is only available in the colour white and will be visible after installation.
  • No-drill headrail is only available for inside mount.
  • No-drill headrail is only available with a cassette option.
  • No-drill installation headrail requires 2 1/2" of depth to install.
  • Factory will deduct approximately 5/8” off of the no-drill installation headrail regardless of lift style. Deductions may vary +/- 1/8".
  • The locking mechanism on the no-drill installation headrail will be located on the opposite end of the control side selected for Safety Guard. The locking mechanism will be located on the right side for Cordless and Motorized options.
  • IMPORTANT MEASURING TIP: If the no-drill installation headrail is chosen, measure the exact width of the top of your window frame and use those measurements as your width. Do NOT take the smallest of the three measurements, which may cause your headrail to not fit properly.

It provides privacy but also good light during the day if closed. I have one on my front door and another in the bathroom. The door has a valance which looks better. For some reason, the valance for the smaller bathroom window was quite expensive so I didn't get one there. Easy to install both.

Very happy with the blinds, needed them for light filtering only not privacy, we have 17’ high wall so we also needed the remote control feature, I also like the fact that they are completely hidden when not in use, then my view isn’t obstructed, very easy to install, they are perfect for us.
