SheerWeave Roller Shade Buying Guide
SheerWeave roller blinds are an ideal window covering for rooms where you want to reduce light, heat and UV rays but still enjoy the view.
During the day, these blinds will provide a great deal of privacy, as outsiders will not be able to clearly see through the blinds, while you will be able to see out. At night, however, once it is dark outside and the lights are on, outsiders may be able to see into your room, depending on how much light there is in the room.
SheerWeave blinds’ ability to block light and UV rays is determined by the percent of light that passes through the blind based on the Openness Factor:
The 14% models allow 14% of the light/heat/UV in and are very effective if the direct sun is not striking the window for long periods during the day. These models also allow greater visibility of the outdoors.
The 10% models allow 10% of the light/heat/UV in and are very effective if the direct sun is striking the window for shorter periods during the day. These models also allow greater visibility of the outdoors.
The 5% models shield much more of the light, UV and heat but somewhat reduce visibility of the outdoors through the blinds.
Offices most frequently select 5% models while homes, particularly where transmission of heat and direct sunlight are not as much of a key factor, most often use the 14% models.
