Mount Type - Inside or Outside Mount Refers to the way in which the blind will be hung, either inside or outside the window opening. Inside mount blinds are mounted inside the window frame opening that is recessed from the wall. Outside mount blinds hang outside the window opening on a wood trim, wall or door. Inside mount is by far the most popular mount and provides a nice clean look and finish to your window.

For inside mounts: please make sure to follow the Measuring Instructions on our site; do not make any deductions in your measurements, as our factory will make all necessary deductions to allow for mounting brackets.

These distinctive shades combine a sheer, see-through fabric on the top with a solid coloured, blackout cellular fabric on the bottom.

During the daytime, you can lower the middle bar separating the two fabrics to get more natural light coming in from the top while maintaining your privacy with the bottom blackout shade. For full visibility to the outside, use the cordless Lift & LockTM system to raise the entire shade to the top (or use the middle bar to lower the top sheer shade all the way to the bottom). And at nighttime, or when you prefer full privacy, simply raise the middle bar to the top so that the blackout shade covers the entire window.

These shades are ideal for bedrooms, nurseries and media rooms, as they provide you with full light and privacy control – all in one shade!

Plus, they can make your home more energy efficient, too. Their unique cellular construction traps air inside, keeping your home warmer in the winter and cooler in the summer.

Recommendations and Limitations

  • Inside mount: 1/4" headrail deduction and 3/8" fabric deduction taken at the factory. On outside mount 1/8” fabric deduction and no headrail deductions. Do not attempt to account for fabric deductions by changing measurements on inside mount shades. 
  • White tabbed fabric on backside for bottom fabric (streetside) of shade.
  • For outside mount shades, we recommend adding up to an additional 4" to your width to prevent light gaps on the sides of your window. 
  • Standard inside mount brackets are top mounted. Side mounting brackets available upon request for shades less than 48" wide only. Adding hold down brackets to inside mounts will increase headrail deduction to 1/2" to make room for brackets.
  • Striker plates on shades more than 42" wide will be approximately 4" from edges.
  • Comes standard with colour coordinated painted rails.

Love them. Had received 4 quotes prior to ordering these on-line. All 4 quotes were double the price. I was skeptical, but my daughter had purchased some for her home and also loved them. Ordering was easy and quick. Received then 2 weeks early which was a bonus. Installation was so fast. 3 brackets at the top and the blinds snapped it. I purchased the dual blackout blinds with sheer on top. They are terrific. Easy to open and close. I will be ordering more for the bedrooms. I have the dining room open from the bottom so that my dogs can look outside and more of the sheer so that I can see outside. The living room, I have the blackout part almost fully closed to reduce the outside like glaring on the TV.

Nice Blinds!

These blinds definitely do the trick for what we need. We got the no drill installation for the Value plus blackout blinds and just a heads up it leaves a small space for light to come in at the top. Not a huge deal for us, but if you want more blackout I would suggest not getting the no-drill installation. We have blackout curtains over top of ours since it's in the baby room. Our windows are brand new and completely square. The 2 fabric top-down-bottom up is in our master bedroom and I love it. I'm honestly not sure how long the button mechanism will last to raise and lower the blinds but I guess only time will tell. In the past we have gotten cellular shades from another site and they didn't have a button mechanism, it was a simply push to raise and pull to lower. Hopefully I'm wrong and it lasts a long time. Either way they were a fraction of the price of in town quotes.

Appreciated the opportunity to order sample colours. I was surprised at how quickly I was able to find the perfect colour in the room. Your customer service person Anne was very helpful in answering my questions to address the window opening handle. Unfortunately, I don’t know what I don’t know and I didn’t order extensions for mounting the blind. My husband was able to use some wood to solve the issue. And I am having a challenging time figuring out how to put up the blind when you want to clean the window or just have the no window covering on the window. I was unable to find an instructions on raising the blind or find a video.
